Mr. Jimmy Schaeffler

Jimmy Schaeffler, Chairman and CEO for The Carmel Group, is a three decade-long telecommunications (and now computer and media) industry
veteran. Mr. Schaeffler career highlights include:
Working with ABC Sports during the 1972 Munich Olympics, working along side Roone Arledge, Peter Jennings and Jim McKay.
He was an executive and attorney with ABC Sports through the 1984 Games in Sarajevo.
During 1986-90, Mr. Schaeffler was the Assistant General Counsel for the U.S. Olympic Committee, and afterwards the vice president and general counsel of the Aspen, CO-based Adventure World Productions and Ashcroft Ski Touring.
Most recently, Mr. Schaeffler was the DBS analyst for Paul Kagan Associates. As the company's DBS expert during 1992-1995, Mr. Schaeffler was the principal author, researcher and analyst for the monthly DBS newsletter and for the inaugural edition of what was then the industry's premier databook, “The State of DBS”. His expert services, including consulting, have been engaged by scores of the world's largest telecommunications- and computer- and media-based companies.
Mr. Schaeffler is regularly consulted and his positions quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, Business Week, The New York Times, USA Today, Investor's Business Daily, and The Los Angeles Times. He regularly contributes articles to key trade
journals such as Satellite News, Multichannel News, Wideband, and Private Broadband Magazine. His is also on the editorial board of Private Broadband.
Mr. Schaeffler holds a Bachelor or Arts degree (with high honors) from the University of California at Berkeley. He also speaks fluent German (having studied several terms at the Goethe Institute) and he holds a law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he served as a staff member of and writer for the Pacific Law Journal.
