Chief Financial Officer, Inmarsat Ventures Plc and Inmarsat Group Holdings Ltd, April 1999 to October 2004 and main Board director.

Responsibilities: Sale of the Company to private equity buyers, involving an auction arranged on behalf of shareholders and completion of leverage debt package including bond issue and other financial engineering aspects, including corporate governance compliances. Prior major activities included: full preparations for IPO but not completed due to adverse market conditions; successful privatization of Inmarsat; $610 m term facility and lease financing of satellites with a major reduction in cost of capital; first purchase by a western company of Russian launch vehicle, supported by EBRD; innovative launch insurance placements involving major savings; private placement of $ 1.4 billion in equity for funding of the Inmarsat project.
